Dive sites are marked by G.P.S. to insure they are in the right spot without having to drop an anchor on the living coral reefs below. Each boat carries a first aid kit, oxygen, and marine band radio and the crew is trained in CPR and First Aid. The Captain and the Divemasters are all insured and in good standing with PADI. Passengers can be assured that, although remote, every precaution is taken to ensure the safety of guests. Rum Point Divers is a Bronze sponsor of the DAN program and is also involved with the hyperbaric chamber program in San Pedro. A charge of $1 US per tank fee is collected to insure guests in the unlikely event that should there be a diving related injury, they will be financially covered for transport and admission to the facility in San Pedro. This service is also useful for the diver who is already insured by the DAN program, as this service will cover the initial deductible. |
CLIENT COMMENT:
"Dear Ann, I wanted to get back to you about our trip to Belize and stay at Rum Point Inn. We had the best time, hurricane and all! George and the staff at Rum Point were so accommodating and the inn is charming and so unique.. Our room was beautiful, spacious and cool, with wonderful air conditioning. The meals were all incredible and each am they would put up the menu for dinner that night and we would be anticipating it all day. The best pie crusts ever! We ended up getting half our dives in which are the best I have ever done. It was just the 2 of us and the dive master, the perfect way to dive. Lunch was on a tiny island each day. We truly were in paradise. The hurricane got in the way of our plans to go to Belize City to see the ruins, as you know, but other than that all went smoothly. We want to go back in the spring to see the whale sharks and ruins, pockets willing. That was so kind of you to check on us in Placencia during the hurricane. How is Ambergris Caye doing after Keith? Yes, luck was with us in choosing southern Belize. Thank you for all your work in making our vacation plans and I will definitely be in touch if we can swing the trip in the spring. Take care, Julie P.S. ...you do a remarkable job and it is greatly appreciated" |
