San Pedro Sula makes a great place from where to launch your discovery of Honduras. Geographically blessed with many attractions nearby, it is connected by the most complete network of highways in Central America, making it very easy to visit the different points of interest in the area.

El Cusuco National Cloud Forest Park

Located just west of San Pedro Sula, in the impressive Merendon Mountain Range that dominates the city, this cloud forest is probably the one park with the best infrastructure for tourists in Honduras. Perhaps the most famous of all the different species living in the park is the enigmatic Quetzal, famed to be the loveliest of all tropical birds, which has been put at the brink of extinction because of loss of habitat as well as over hunting because of its beautiful long tail feather.

San Fernando de Omoa Fortress.

Take a step into the past, when buccaneers roamed the Caribbean Sea and attacked the Spanish centers in the new world! San Fernando de Omoa is one of the most impressive fortifications built by the Spaniards to protect themselves from the fierce pirates. Today it stands as silent testimony to an important, if difficult period in Honduran history. After touring the site, you will have a chance to bathe in the Caribbean beaches near Puerto Cortes.

Hotel Copantl Sula, is San Pedro Sula's finest hotel. Excellent coffee shop and great Sunday brunch is served. The hotel is located some distance from downtown in a quieter, more affluent neighborhood. Restaurant, suites available, convention facilities, cocktail lounge, steak house, gym, swimming pool, color TV, hot water and a casino is available in the evenings.

Hotel Gran Sula is an excellent choice. Located downtown across from the Parque Central it is close to all services. The most well known hotel in town. Clean, well maintained, hot water, swimming pool, TV, bar and just about everything you'd want. It has the only dependable 24-HOUR COFFEE SHOP in town. Upstairs the dining room GRANADA is superb. It is a great place to have dinner and they serve an excellent buffet lunch during the week.
