The lodge is the only resort on the island, so theres plenty of elbow room. The accommodations ring the perimeter of the island to catch the cool ocean tradewinds. |

Turneffe Island Lodge, located 30
miles off the Central American coast of Belize, offers the best combination of fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling found anywhere in the Caribbean. |
Amenities:
The original Turneffe Island Travel Lodge was built by Mennonite craftsmen in the 1960's and recently remodeled in a casual Caribbean motif to enhance the original "old Caribbean" design. The lodge's tastefully appointed guest rooms and mahogany cabanas are nestled between coconut palms. All rooms are air conditioned and have a wonderful view of the untouched white beaches, the coral reef, and Caribbean sea. The unique location of the lodge provides quick and easy access to the coral reef lagoons and flats. Accommodations: Our packages include accommodations in our superior lodge rooms. We have four lodge buildings with multiple rooms. Each room has a private bath and shower, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Rooms with two beds are also available upon request. To ensure your added comfort, all windows have screens and may be opened to enjoy the ocean breeze. There is ample hot water and power as the resort's central power plant was engineered to ensure all guests' needs and comfort. The power supplied on the island is American standard at 110 volts. The island office has a supply hair dyers, irons and alarm clocks on hand for guest use. Private Cabanas: Along the southern coastline of the island are seven private cabanas. Each unit is nestled between coconut palms lining this side of the island. The interior of each cabana from floor to ceiling is constructed from Belizean mahogany, known as some of the finest in the world. The cabanas have been designed with oversized windows and screen porches to allow for spectacular views. They are either furnished with a queen and full size bed or with a queen bed and sitting arrangements. The sitting arrangement consists of a loveseat and two chairs ideal for socializing in the evenings. Each cabana has a separate dressing area with an oversized closet, the vanity is separate from the shower and toilet facilities. The cabanas are without question the most preferred accommodations on the island as they allow the opportunity to enjoy the privacy and solitude that is so often sought when someone travels to a remote destination. The Food: Like all of the buildings on the island, our dining room and lounge is located along the oceanfront. You'll enjoy spectacular array of Belizean, Caribbean, and continental cuisine during your stay with us. We serve 3 full meals a day, including a hot breakfast, at set times in our dining room. Snacks are available throughout the day and hors d'oeuvres are served prior to dinner. Meals are served family style and dinner includes appetizer, entree, and dessert. Meals that you may never forget include Snapper with Lemon Nut Crust, Coconut Shrimp, Fillet of Beef, or Grilled Lobster and the famous Coconut Creme pie made with fresh Coconuts. You do not want to miss a meal at Turneffe Island Lodge. The "Ladies" make everything from scratch in the kitchen. |
